LOCUS is excited to debut the first ever member spotlight, where we highlight a LOCUS coalition member whose past work and dedication in the real estate sector advance smart growth principles and equitable development. The first-ever spotlight profiles Dinkar Ganti, a new LOCUS member in 2021.
Dinkar Ganti
Dinkar Ganti is the founder of DeeAar Holdings, LLC, a real-estate hedge fund located in Princeton, NJ that specializes in deriving value from environmentally challenged sites. Dinkar brings to LOCUS expertise in revitalizing contaminated or degraded sites that are too commonly disregarded, resulting in the abandonment of property and long term environmental effects for communities.
His team has been dedicated to the cleanup of contaminated sites since 2018.  We have focused on the bioremediation of abandoned gas stations and properties contaminated with heating oil, gasoline, kerosene, or TCE/PCE (a commonly found chemical used in dry-cleaning sites). Dinkar works closely with local county and state offices to present a commercially viable roadmap for the restoration of abandoned properties, as well as attract investments into these neglected sites.
Q&A
The following is a brief excerpt from our Q&A with Dinkar discussing smart growth and his dedication to equity principles in real estate development:
Q: Tell us about your work, and how you became engaged in smart growth and triple-bottom-line real estate development.
A: Our team’s work has been dedicated to the cleanup of contaminated sites since 2018.  We have focused on the bioremediation of abandoned gas stations and properties contaminated with heating oil, gasoline, kerosene, or TCE/PCE (a commonly found chemical used in dry-cleaning sites).  Our goal is to work closely with local county and state offices to present a commercially viable roadmap for the restoration of abandoned properties; as well as attract investments into these neglected sites.  Essentially, the cleanup and attention to brownfield sites are necessary to achieve smart growth, and it is our passion.  Through our work, we hope to decontaminate our planet and recover these sites for the use of our communities.
