About LOCUS LOCUS, meaning “place” in Latin, is a national coalition of real estate developers and investors advocating for sustainable, equitable, and walkable development in metropolitan areas across America. The coalition brings together purpose-driven investors to influence smart growth policies at federal, state, and local levels. Our mission LOCUS’ mission is aligned with Smart Growth America’s vision: to create a country where everyone can live in a healthy, prosperous, and resilient place. We achieve this by building a diverse coalition, advocating for impactful development policies, and providing resources to drive change in local communities. Our Priorities LOCUS is a long-time leader in advocacy efforts to advance transit-oriented development and leveraging infrastructure investment to support housing and community development. Our priorities are at the core of everything we do and push us toward the ultimate goal of affordable, sustainable, and equitable communities.
