Americans want a transportation system that gets them where they need to go safely and efficiently. Transportation for America works to advance tangible, concrete outcomes for federal, state, and local transportation programs.
Transportation for America’s Community Connectors Portal provides tools and information for advocates to decode the complex and confusing maze of programs, acronyms, and decision points that determine what gets built with federal and state transportation dollars.
The ~$77-billion-per year federal transportation program has been limping along for years, accomplishing very little while requiring enormous taxpayer infusions to cover its costs. Transportation for America’s policy proposals for reauthorization are focused on radically updating this program and making it more accountable to taxpayers.
